Chris Toh

Author, Scientist, Engineer, & Father

Chris is a Public Impact Fellow, Engineering Bridge Fellow, Science Communication Fellow, and Division of Teach Excellence Fellow at UC Irvine and holds a degree for the Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Engineering.

His research focus's primarily on leveraging large scale human genomic databases to gain insight and understanding into complex human diseases such as cancers, Schizophrenia, and Alzheimer's Disease. He applies machine learning principles and computer science technologies to biological problems.

Chris completed his Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering at UCLA followed by his Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy at UC Irvine in Biomedical Engineering.

Additionally Chris works as a Senior Software DevOps Engineer for Bio-Rad Laboratories, supporing the Unity Next Project.

He is the primarily developer of a variety of Java, JavaScript, Go, and HTML5 based technologies within his job role.

His role includes support and development on Amazon Web Services, Azure Team Foundation Services, and GitHub.

In February 2022, Chris became a father. It is by far the most joyous and simulatenously difficult endeavor he has ever undertook.
